Clinical Coordinator and Billing Specialist:​

Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Mental Health Clinical Coordinator and Billing Specialist to join our team. This dual-role position ensures smooth clinical operations and accurate billing practices. You’ll work closely with clinicians, clients, and insurance providers to support both administrative and financial aspects of mental health care delivery.

Key Responsibilities: Clinical Coordinator

Serve as the primary administrative liaison between clients, therapists, and external providers.

Manage client intake, scheduling, and referrals.
-
Ensure timely documentation and assist clinicians with EHR usage.

Monitor clinician caseloads and appointment compliance.
-
Maintain confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Key Responsibilities: Billing Specialist
-
Verify insurance benefits and obtain pre-authorizations as needed.
-
Submit and track insurance claims and client billing statements.
-
Reconcile payments, manage denials, and follow up on outstanding balances.
-
Collaborate with billing vendors or use EHR-integrated systems for revenue cycle management.

Educate clients about billing procedures and financial policies.
Qualifications:
-
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Psychology, Social Work, or related field (preferred) or equivalent experience.

Minimum 2 years of experience in a medical or mental health setting.

Proficiency in insurance billing, CPT/ICD-10 codes, and EHR systems (e.g., SimplePractice, Theranest).
-
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
-
Ability to multitask, problem-solve, and maintain confidentiality.

Essential Job Functions:

Conduct Intakes

Develop individualized treatment plans to individual service needs

Conduct individual therapy on a weekly basis

Applies best practice standards and outcome measurements as related to clinical practices

Maintain client records, treatment statistics and other documentation according to practice standards

Participates in individual supervision that meets the standards set by Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Licensure and in accordance with Beckstein Behavioral Health, PLLC policies
-
Prepares and participates in supervision that is regular, reflective, and collaborative in nature
-
Communicates in a positive, respectful, and courteous manner
-
Willing to create an affirming therapeutic space for LGBTQ+ clients
-
Functions as an effective team member with co-workers and the counseling community to build productive, collaborative relationships that support the achievement of client, staff and company goals and objectives.

Understands and maintains private and sensitive information within in the confines HIPAA
-
Reviews email daily and promptly responds to email communication within 24 hours of receiving the email
-
Submits complete and accurate reports, forms, and other written information as required in accordance with Beckstein Behavioral Health, PLLC policies
-
Maintains a calendar on a weekly basis that is available to supervisors and relevant coworkers

Attends staff and other meetings as requested

Education, Experience, and Other Qualifications:
-
Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC) (must be licensed to work in the state of Arizona)
-
Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) (must be licensed to work in the state of Arizona)
-
Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW/LMSW)(must be licensed to work in the state of Arizona)
-
Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology or a related human service field.
