--Immediate in person and telehealth openings for BCBS, Cigna, Aetna and self pay clients--

My name is Shae Moreau (they/them), and I am a Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC) under the supervision of Cassidi Beckstein, LPC. I earned both my Bachelor’s in Psychology and Master of Counseling from Arizona State University.

Throughout my life, I have seen people change through the power of genuine, non-judgmental counseling that allows people a safe space to look at themselves and how they fit into the world. My goal is to provide that same warmth and compassion in a way that is tailored to fit an individual’s needs. I firmly believe that everyone has what it takes to grow, and I am here to provide the reflective space for that growth.

I work with adults using a trauma-informed lens. As an LGBTQIA+ affirming therapist, I see each client as their own unique person and wish to honor their culture, sexuality, belief systems, and gender identity. I strive to create a positive environment where people can be their authentic selves.

My favorite quote from Anthony Doerr’s, All the Light We Cannot See, sums up my counseling philosophy: “Why else do any of this if not to become who we want to be?”

Finding a therapist that you can connect with, a therapist that is truly invested in you and your growth, is an essential step in your personal healing journey. I strive to maintain an approach that empowers clients to feel secure in our work together and to trust the process. I am glad to work with anyone who has the courage to be authentic and present during our time together.

I hope to cultivate a space in which you feel empowered to learn, unlearn, relearn, challenge, and be challenged. I lead with empathy and mindfulness while bearing witness to your unique experience. We will take time to explore past and present thoughts, emotions, beliefs, and behavior patterns as they relate to all aspects of life.

I utilize an approach that embodies both direct and validating communication, while embracing self-reflection, authenticity, and shame reduction. My approach is collaborative and flexible based on your needs. During our sessions, you can expect a nonjudgmental atmosphere, warmth, and a genuine interest in you as we work together to cultivate your desires.

Guided by a deep rooted passion to be an advocate for those in need, I completed a Master’s Degree in Social Work at Northern Arizona University. I’m now a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) through the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners. I will soon be trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy.
