Licensed Associate Counselor

--Immediate in person and telehealth openings for BCBS, Cigna, Aetna and self pay clients--

My name is Shae Moreau (they/them), and I am a Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC) under the supervision of Cassidi Beckstein, LPC. I earned both my Bachelor’s in Psychology and Master of Counseling from Arizona State University.

Throughout my life, I have seen people change through the power of genuine, non-judgmental counseling that allows people a safe space to look at themselves and how they fit into the world. My goal is to provide that same warmth and compassion in a way that is tailored to fit an individual’s needs. I firmly believe that everyone has what it takes to grow, and I am here to provide the reflective space for that growth.

I work with adults using a trauma-informed lens. As an LGBTQIA+ affirming therapist, I see each client as their own unique person and wish to honor their culture, sexuality, belief systems, and gender identity. I strive to create a positive environment where people can be their authentic selves.

My favorite quote from Anthony Doerr’s, All the Light We Cannot See, sums up my counseling philosophy: “Why else do any of this if not to become who we want to be?”

Everyone should be accepted and loved for being their true self and living life authentically. We never know when it’s our last day, so why should we spend more of our time in situations that we don’t prefer.

I spent over 40 years in the Midwest before moving to sunny Arizona and pursuing my dream job as a therapist. I am a “mature” individual with a broad array of life experiences. I enjoy working with adults who are new to therapy and may have never spoken about their problems. My style is open, authentic, empathetic and direct. I will be your biggest cheerleader as you grow and heal from your trauma.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Arizona. I earned a Bachelors in Psychology and Sociology from Illinois State University followed by a Masters in Counseling from Ottawa University. I am EMDR trained
